Simple Vintage Cake

Hello friends!!

My original post on this cake was an announcement for “last sold cake!” HOWEVER I have worked out my schedule and am now able to sell again!!! Hooray!!!!

This is my latest “midi” cake made for one of my first clients Michelle. These cakes are so perfect for small celebrations. It gives the client a cake that’s a bit more personal and definitely more delicious than a grocery store cake but way cheaper than a full custom cake.

I wanted to focus on textures for the buttercream. Lately I have been very inspired by unique cakes that aren’t so perfect. It adds a certain charm and character to them.

The flowers were made of gumpaste. I took pictures as I made them so I will be putting together a tutorial soon for you. For the letters I used a regular stamp I bought specially for cakes (only) and used food coloring as my ink. It was my first time doing that and it worked out GREAT!

When I made the flower I didn’t want to look at any other flower as reference. I wanted this one to be fun and unique, but yet simple to make.

I’m so grateful I made that decision, because I was really happy with the results. Sometimes it’s so hard to let go and get creative. Its scary and uncomfortable. But this is proof that we all should give it a go once in a while and trust our talents and creativity more often.

Thank you for the opportunity to share with you. What do you think of the cake?

Blessings to you ♥

and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.
